I thought that music based on classical are meant to be
inspired, not copied. Is anyone creating new classical music anymore? then it
should not be called classical. You have to expand on what you mean by
"heavily inspired". Please be more specific. And we should also remember that
if someone sings a Saint Thyagaraja composition it doe'nt mean that he has
copied the song. In a similar vein, if different lyrics are sung based on
a classical composition even if it exactly resembles the original will not be
a copy in my books. opinions might vary.

Blatant Copy of Sowkkiyama song!!!
Hi Karthik,
If you see the
place where Nityashree sings "Suriyan vanthu vaa enum pothu..." it is
DITTO DITTO COPY OF "Vaanathil meedu mayil aada kanden...".
There is a lot of difference between inspiration and lift. I would
NOT AGREE with you in this regard. ARR might have classical
knowledge which I don't deny but most of his classical songs are HEAVILY
INSPIRED.. Another one which I remember is "En veettu
thottathil..." If you listen to the original version (which I am
not sure..) is exactly the same.
