Your points are well taken.  There is room for improvement.  Whether 
ARR should have taken up diction lessons as a child is another 
issue.  If ARR or any other non Urdu speaking artist for that matter 
had an ideal training background and could afford Urdu mentors and 
tuition as a child, that would be wonderful.  With ARR, his childhood 
was not ideal.  The fact remains that he did not take Urdu lessons as 
a child, therefore, learning precise Urdu at a later age is 
difficult, if not, impossible, even if he had the best teachers 
around.  The adult brain is just not plastic enough to incorporate 
new neural routes to formulate pure pronunciations.  This is a 
scientific fact.  This goes for anyone.  

When words are slightly mispronounced relative to pure articulation, 
it might leave a bad taste in your mouth because you are so picky 
about diction, but for many of us, we notice it, but don't let it 
ruin our enjoyment of the song, unless the pronunciations are totally 
botched and pathetic, which ARR has never done.  For an Urdu purist 
like you, it will surely bother you, just like a classical purist 
would be bothered by even the slightest hint of fusion in any 
classical composition.  There is nothing wrong in your preference.  
But, your purist preference is not something that everyone values as 
much as you do, and to me, that's perfectly ok.
