I am really surprised at the very contrasting reactions to the audio quality of
Blue. I am afraid I am finding it hard to decipher what's in it that makes it
sound a "lil messy". AR's songs have always been multilayered but this one
raises the bar even higher. There are several pan effects going on in multiple
assymetric tracks giving the album a lush, sophisticated and classy texture and
the ambience created is very much by design and not an accident. I guess beauty
lies in the eyes of the listener. :-) :-)

I think the sound is "brilliant" (As in 1 and 4 by this
definition  http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/brilliant ) and a paradigm
shift towards a delectable direction. Pay attention to the intricate
synth/cymbal/bass guitar layering in the intro of Rehnuma  or listen to the
bluesy /jazzy  interlude in Aaj Dil gustak right around the 1:30 mark and you
will notice a definite crispness in sound. You can actually feel the guitar
strings vibrate in Bhoola Tujhe and in the same song I am really digging the
latest addition to AR's vast repertoire of instruments - Kavita Baliga :-)

I have no doubt in my mind that AR & his recording team have adopted a fresh
sonic template for this soundtrack just like they did for JTYJN. AR has been
tinkering with his 'sound' a lot these days and most of his recent changes
where more to my liking when compared to his Rang De Basanti/Guru days.

Another notable deviation is that the songs have been instantly likable right
from the first listen. The last time a soundtrack made such  a dramatic impact
on me straightaway was Thakshak which made a traffic jam immensely pleasurable.

No offense chord, i have very expensive stuff here but the audio still doesnt
feel all great. The points you mention are all true, but something about the
quaility is a lil messy. I know we are so picky but delhi 6 was slightly
better. This is only in terms oif audio quailty, not the songs which are
obviosuly awesome.
