I have two AR Systems (one ARS 7/ITSM 6, the other ARS 7/ITSM 7) on the
same box. I took my first system, detached the DB, did the second
install (into a different directory structure), and then re-attached the
first as something other than ARSystem. All I have to do to switch
between the two is rename the db-name variable in my ar.cfg file and
restart ARS. I even have both using ARAdmin as the DBO.

It can get a lot more complicated than that, as below posts have
indicated. My intent was to show that it could also be pretty simple.

If you want to have two (or more) different ones up and running at the
same time, there are also licensing issues to think about.

yes herb you are right,
but there is one thing you COULD do with mid-tier. You can use 1 mid
tier installation to point to several AR servers.
