The 6.3 version will not work against a 5.1.2 server. You have to use the 5.1 version. The 6.3 version looks for the schema archive tables which are a feature ARS 6x added.
I've used archgid many times. For fields it is used to change an existing field ID to an ID that is not in use (on that form). Are you using the commandline or letting the program prompt you?
