I would make the CMDB install one of the first things, especially if you plan to use a version/patch of it that isn't on the CD.  It will be easier to do it without the encumbrance of the ITSM apps in the way.

Yes was aware that it requires a license for CMDB install.. I just wanted to make sure it doesn't prompt for the server license during the server installation as we have yet to download the licenses...
 
Another related question would be, what would be the order of install if I were installing the following (all V7 products).. Or better still correct me if the following order of installation is wrong as this is what I might have done...
 
Approval Engine
Assignment Engine
SD Incident Management
SD Problem Management
SLM
Change Management
CMDB
 
I intend installing the Email engine and the Mid-Tier server towards the end..
 
I think the above order should be good enough but I'd love a feeback from those who have installed the above components on a single running instance of the AR Server version 7..

** It only requires a licenses if you are trying to install CMDB or one of the applicaions.  CMDB will not install without a licnese.
