Thanks! Now when we apply the patch is it usually pretty quick? Sorry to ask
such a dumb question but I have not been the one doing this before. How long
should users expect to be down? We are 24/7.

BMC did the testing on AR System 6.0.1 and specifically provides information on
what will be seen by customers who do not or cannot upgrade. Please review the
document at:

http://www.bmc.com/supportu/documents/78/29/67829/67829.pdf

for details in the "Additional information for AR System 6.0.1 customers"
section. The two primary affected areas are Web Services and Import/Export.
Customers running 5.1.2 will likely see the same issues as the architectures
are very similar between 6.0.1 and 5.1.2.

Thanks,

Janet,

Yes you will need to upgrade mid-tier AND ARS from 6.1 to 6.3. Based on
feedback I received from BMC, it doesn't sound like, at least to me, that they
have actually tested a scenario in where one does not upgrade from 6.1 to 6.3.
In the technical bulleting I read, "...could potentially affect" so this didn't
leave me with a warm fuzzy.

We are in the same boat and will need to patch/upgrade mid-tier, ARS, email
engine, and flashboards....weeee!

Best of luck to you,
Richard
