Kelly good try, but my server isn't in a group and there was exactly one
user (myself) logged in after a fresh reboot after having deleted the
multilicense file. I'd really wish it was a patch issue. I haven't
gotten the new licenses as of yet, so I'll have to wait until tomorrow to
see if that's the problem.

Re: Float licenses not recognized

I am not sure if this is your issue Ben, but I was made aware of the
following issues today with 7.01 patch 1 today by support. I thought the
first one might be the culprit. From what I understand, 7.01 patch 01
will not release floating licenses. Once you have reached the overall max
number, everyone else will be denied a license. The temporary fix that
was suggested to me was support could issue fixed licenses for your users
until patch 02 was available.

SW00256702 ? Server Group Floating licenses: If you are in a server group
environment, floating licenses will be consumed very quickly and users
will eventually not be able to get a token.

SW00256211 ? Handle Leak: If you use email notifications with attachments,
temporary files created on the server are not cleaned up. This will
eventually cause the server to run out of handles.

SW00256074 ? Server Crashing: ARServer crashes in ARGetMultipleFields when
doing ARCreateEntry from Mid-tier. This bug was reported on Solaris

Thanks
Kelly

Float licenses not recognized

I'm working with support to get this resolved; but starting to feel like
I'm going around in circles with them. I'm putting this problem to the
list in case someone has gone through this and can offer some solution.

This is a Dev box on a linux (suse 9) platform running ARS 7.0.1 server
and ITSM apps (change, problem, Incident, Asset...ect) patch 3, connecting
to an Oracle 10g database.

My new production system with permanent licenses is working fine with
fix/float licenses. My dev box with 10 float licenses will have no
problem with fix license users, but displays 10 warning messages if you
try to click on any link off the homepage that there are no float licenses
available (this user being the only one logged in). I've tried the
standard stop app, deleted the multilicense, start up apps and re-enter
all the licenses again.

Anyone got any ideas?
