Hi, Kyle: AR Email side: 1. Are messages appearing in the Email messages form? 2. Are they showing as "Sent"? 3. When you performed Email Patch 20 upgrade, did you say "no" to the mailbox configuration question. Saying no would keep your current configuration. 4. Verify the settings (including the port number) in the AR System Email Mailbox Configuration form 5. Is it possible that a secure port is now being used for email?
Firewall side: 1. Buy your firewall/security administrator a beer or a Big Red Vanilla soda. (I prefer the latter) 2. And then ask very nicely to watch the network traffic while you do a series of steps, i.e., send email to and from server. 3. Your administrator can typically catch whatever traffic is being thrown at the wall. S/He should be able to see data packets that either pass through or are blocked. Disclaimer: I'm not a security administrator. I use to be in a heavily secure environment where most ports were always closed. It was an act of congress (for our own good of course) to have a port opened. Been there with the infamous UDP port 111 when dealing with ARWeb 4.0 in the DMZ to ARServer 4.5.x. Everything "appeared" to work except Search menus. The security god kept saying that all appropriate ports were open (and that we needed Remedy Tech support to do something about it). I didn't buy him a beer, however we (the powers that be, tech support and I) did finally convince him to set up a 15 minute session while I performed the operation. He picked up the problem within seconds. Hope that helps, Michelle -----Original Message----- From: Action Request System discussion list(ARSList) [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Kyle Whitley Sent: Thursday, March 01, 2007 1:35 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: Emal Engine No Incoming/Outgoing Messages Tony Worthington wrote: > Is your SMTP port open? 25 usually.. > > > That is what they tell me.
