Sounds like to me, you issue might just be the Authentications string.. You should know what that is.. Application password.. Go to the ar.conf look for Remedy-App-Service-Password: Make sure there is something there.. first.. Next go to EmailDaemon.properties look for the string com.remedy.arsys.emaildaemon.remedy.Authentication= These should be the SAME if they are not.. Guess what.. no communications from the JAVA application to the ARS server. no comm. will all the correct settings.. So take the Authentication String :: Remedy-App-Service-Password from the ar.conf plop it into the com.remedy.arsys.emaildaemon.remedy.Authentication= make sure there are no Returns in it.. and ./emaild.sh stop email engine will startup and comm will start..

Is it possible that a secure port is now being used for email? Had the sys admins get on the machine in question and try to connect to mail server over specified ports and they were successful.
