You'd think they'd realize that a lot of us WILL NOT use the installer
as we have necessary customization to base forms. If they would only
spend a bit of time in making a binary only installer, would make life
so much easier.

The arupsyb file is part of the installer and is used during install of
AR Server. It is not part of the AR Server install files, libraries or
binaries. You therefore do not need to do anything with this file if you
are patching with files instead of the installer. A defect was
previously opened to remove this file from our documentation. Our
recommendation though, is still to run the installer to apply the patch
as this will take care of installing all the necessary files. "

So apparently that defect was not resolved between then and now. And I
got the privilege of wasting more of my time with long known (9 months
old) BMC problems.
