I really like the debug capabilities solaris/mdb/dbx have to offer via
libumem.  It's been crucial at getting to the root of some problems (memory
leaks in arserver, plugins, etc.).  Also, when developing c based software
(plugins, etc.), solaris is very nice to work on because of the debugging
capabilities mentioned above.
