The system CAN generate the field but I like to control this myself. Create an 
integer field on the form you are mapping to(or Base Element if you are using 
it on a lot of CMDB mappings). Use that field to store the change value (a 
check-sum calculated by the value of all data in your mapped fields. If the sum 
changes, an updated/modify is needed)
