Out of curiosity: what version where you looking in?  6.3 or 7.x

Here's the magic combination.

1) It doesn't matter whether the field is sourced on a regular form or console.
2) The check box field must exist on the default view of the form.
3) The column must be set as editable.  (that's the one that hung me up.

mine doesn't display like that could be one of two things:

1)  Both the Check Box field and the associated column are on a DO form, and 
are therefore DO fields.
2)  Because of 1), I have to have an AL guide populate the column.
