        Here's the magic combination.
        
        1) It doesn't matter whether the field is sourced on a regular
form or console.
        2) The check box field must exist on the default view of the
form.
        3) The column must be set as editable.  (that's the one that
hung me up.

DO form, and are therefore DO fields.
        2)  Because of 1), I have to have an AL guide populate the
