I wouldn't expect much of an impact then. I believe your main impact will be client connections. This includes any web service integrations you may have. Any thing connecting to your servers either native or web will need to know the new fqdn, unless all of your connections use the short name, in that case you wouldn't need to do anything other than update the DNS...do you have many 3rd party integrations?
