We have found that the User Tool hangs on Windows 2008/Win7 64bit machines.
Just clicking from one field to another can cause the client to hang for a
bit.

We give anybody who asks for the WUT to install on a 64bit system the 7.1
client. We also tell them to download the client locally and install in XP
compatibility mode. This has taken care of any issues we have seen
installing WUT on 64bit systems.

On my 64bit workstations I install both 7.1 WUT and 7.5 Suite (minus AR
Server parts). I install 7.1 to "\Program Files (x86)\AR System7.1" and 7.5
products to "\Program Files (x86)\BMC Software". This allows me to use Dev
Studio and the 7.1 WUT for most of my work. If I need to utilize a 7.5
feature I can open the 7.5 WUT (and deal with the hanging) or use Mid-Tier
(which is the only place we deploy 7.5 features). It does help that we are
on Help Desk 6 so only newer custom apps have 7.5 features and that is part
of our plan to get our users use to using Remedy in a browser.
