Check the BMC KB for an article about certain libs that have to moved around on the filesystem when running rkm and midtier on the same host. I don't remember the exact libs/folders, but what happens is that the midtier app loads a lib as private, and then when rkm needs the lib, it can't be loaded because it's already resident elsewhere.
This doesn't really sound like your problem, but it might help.
