Strauss, Ref: RFE0010655 (SSL / AREA LDAP).
At JSS, we take client feedback seriously. Perhaps I can cite some examples, one of which is relevant to your RFE. One of our clients asked us why they still needed the BMC AREA LDAP plugin after enabling Integrated Windows Authentication on their SSO Plugin enabled Midtier. They told us the missing piece of the puzzle was a "JSS login page" where they could enter Active Directory credentials and login manually. This was a superb idea and featured in the next release of SSO Plugin, allowing our clients to forget about BMC AREA LDAP configuration where WUT is retired for end users. Another great example is a discussion on ARSlist that led David Easter to inform us that the "User disabled" radio on the User form was for "indicative purposes only", ie it was ignored by AR System. Within hours, SSO Plugin was modified to respect this setting and deny SSO access for users who's account is marked disabled. A great new feature as a result of David's valuable feedback. This week, we've been working with an AR System "veteran" (of 18 years) who told me he went on "away days" with Doug M as part of a steering committee. With vast experience of AR System (back to version 2?!), the user has helped us improve BMC ITSM Incident integration. We listen to users and our products continue to improve, and I don't recall a single instance when we've rejected an RFE.
