If you are using a load balancer in front of the mid-tiers and it is using
a cookie to store persistance, i have used the cookie from the user's
local workstation to determine which midtier they are connected to. Wrote
a simple command line tool to take the hex value stored in the cookie of
the server's ip, translate it to the IP, and finally to the dns name of
the midtier.

Also, i have used the cache settings page of the mid-tier configuration to
look for an entry of UserActorsUSERNAME to identify their user ID on a
specific mid-tier. Open the cache settings page and Ctrl-F "find" for
their username on the page. This is the easiest route i have found until
you have a less manageable count of mid-tier servers.
