Prior to moving to 7.6.04 you have to run and modify as needed customizations
using the Best Practice Conversion Tool.

Jason,
I believe the Upgrade option is dependent upon it connecting to the DB AND
being able to validate it as an ARSystem DB….if that’s all done, it shouldn’t
be prompting for SA password….is yours? If so, verify that the ID/PW you are
providing in the installer is the same as the one that Remedy is currently
using.

Subject: Cannot update AR 7.5 to AR 7.6.x with Upgrade option

**
Hello everybody,

I thought I had seen a thread on this issue a while back but I can't find any
traces of it on the list and only one hit on the BMCDN. We are trying to
upgrade our test server from AR 7.5 p6 to AR 7.6.04 SP1. We are not presented
with the option to Upgrade the existing database. The installer automatically
assumes Overwrite without any other options.

We started with AR 7.5 p5 this morning and went to 7.5 p6 when attempts to
upgrade to 7.6.04 SP1, 7.6.04 and 7.6.03 failed with the same issue. We were
hoping the 7.5 p6 would jiggle the config/install files enough to make later
updates work (which it did fix an issue with installer wanting to use the wrong
install path by default).

Do anybody know what the trick is to get to the Upgrade option?

ARS 7.5 p6
Atrium Core 7.6. p2
ITSM 7.6 p1
SLM 7.6
App Server =Windows 2008 64-bit
DB = MS SQL 2008 64-bit
DB Server Windows 2008 64-bit

Thanks,
Jason
