If you go into application admin, custom tab, change mgmt, advanced options - if you have it, you'll see "Process flow configuration" as an option... if you don't see it, you don't have it.
Not sure on change types/class; I'll see if I can find it. I would not add items to the list; that's a pretty specific list and used in things like approvals. But if you wanted to hide some choices, that would probably be ok. Again, templates help here because you can set the type in the template so users don't have to. -----Original Message----- From: Action Request System discussion list(ARSList) [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Peters, Ron Sent: Tuesday, December 06, 2011 9:30 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: Change phases Thanks. I'm on 7.5 but maybe not on the patch that included that. Would that be in the template configuration or someplace else. I want to determine if I have the right version or not. Also, If I wanted to add/remove change types (class) from the pull-down menu, is there a form to customize the list? This seems like it might be related to the first question. -----Original Message----- From: Action Request System discussion list(ARSList) [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Brock, Anne Sent: Tuesday, December 06, 2011 8:55 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: Change phases If you use templates, you can now skip phases; not sure which patch this was in - I believe a 7.5 patch, but it's definitely there in 7.6.x. So if you want a change to go from draft to implement to closed, skipping everything inbetween, you configure the status flow, hook it to a template, and use the template to start your change. For your requirement to skip the implementation stage I would suggest you create some filters to account for the manual change in status and add an additional action and run qual to the specific VIS action Active Link for the accelerator bar. Good luck. I have a request from our change manager to remove a stage (as seen in the status field - I guess it's not a phase, or it could be) from a particular class of change. When clicking "next stage" through a 'change' you eventually get to the status of 'Implementation in Progress'. Our change manager would like this step removed for a change of class 'no impact'. After thinking through this it seems that all the stages are applied equally for all change classes and that to remove it from one would be an application customization. I was under the impression that each change class had its own set of definable stages much like the definable set of approvals. Is that true? One last related question. If I wanted to add/remove change types (class) from the pull-down menu, is there a form to customize the list? If you're referring to the approval process: Application Admin Console --> Custom Configuration --> Foundation --> Advanced Options --> Approval Process Configuration --> Search existing mappings for "CHG:Infrastructure Change" Each approval process config record has a status flow to enter begin, approved, rejected, no approvers states for your desired flow. How do I configure a particular change type (no impact, normal, etc.) with regard to the stages that are included such as 'implementation in progress' or 'planning in progress' etc. I can't seem to find anything related in the 'change' section of 'custom configuration'. This is of course assuming that it is a configuration and not a customization. Thanks in advance.
