Isn't the RoD offering something like the server hosted completely at BMC
premises? What then would be the benefit of having some of your Remedy servers
on premise and some off premise?

Even if you have an across the globe kind of an operation, I would think that
it won’t matter where the server is physically that BMC is hosting, it would
just have to be set for that regional setting. And then you could have a WS or
if possible a DSO between the many servers that you wish BMC to host for you..
Won’t that be one approach to your problem without having to resort to a hybrid
solution and thus take maximum advantage of the price benefits you get from an
off premise solution?

What am I not understanding correctly if this solution is not a possible fit to
your problem at hand?

There are multiple helpdesk tools(Remedy and Non-Remedy) in different locations
across the globe. An integration is planned with one ROP instance that is used
by application support to server all the loctions. In current scenario, the
application support logs in to each individual tool when they get ticket
assignments. Now, they want one tool to work on and all the tickets from
different tools shold flow through to this system. Challenge is some of the
helpdesk tools are on ROP and some are planned to be on ROD.

That’s probably one of the most unique requests I have heard from a customer
wishing to move to RoD. The whole point of RoD over RoP is that you want to
eliminate the higher costs of maintenance, so why would you have such a unique
requirement where you have a setup on premise as well as one off premise? Just
curious. I’m sure you have a business case, I would like to know what that is
which may give me further insights to possible uses of RoD in a mixed mode like
you are suggesting..

Well, the need is to integrate an existing ROP instance with a planned ROD
instance. I know we could use web services. However, i am trying to evaluate
other options as well like DSO.

The question seemed pretty clear and simple: Does RoD support the AR
    System DSO feature?

    Potential answers: Yes, no.

Personally, I think the answer is no, and I can appreciate why it would
seem odd to use a replication service to a customer's AR System instance
when the point of outsourcing is the customer doesn't need to run
    anything locally.
