My advice would be to try to get a Job with a consulting firm that specializes in rapid solutions. These places usually set you up on projects that last from anywhere between a few weeks, to 6 months, to a year. Each time you finish a project your on to another one. This is good because you will be thrown into many different implementations quickly, and forced to learn their setup and how they use the system. I have yet to ever see a company that doe not use ITSM with ate least some level of customization, and there are ways to do that safely. Often when you sign with a company like these they pay for your training, because they can bill you out a a higher rate (Column would be a good example).

I think I need to get better acquainted with ITSM and how it all works since that seems where the lion’s share of jobs are these days. I know that I could take some remedy training classes, but that is a bit cost prohibitive for an individual to foot the expense, suggestions on first steps?
