Our process was simple.. Uninstall/Remove midtier and Tomcat. Verify Tomcat service was removed and no files are left, but leave the folders. Restart the server. Install Tomcat 6.0.37. Restart server. Install midtier. Restart server. Log into midtier config to verify successful install. Follow procedure for applying MT Hotfix.
