One thing Support had me do a when troubleshooting an FTS performance issue was to add all of the server aliases used by AR System to the hosts file. He stated they have seen some issues related to DNS delays.
Since ITSM relies on plugins more and more it makes sense if your system has some DNS lag that it could easily add up.
