/label and a /gene, the /label takes priority - the /label is the one that's shown under the CDS on screen. If there is no /label, the /gene is shown. This has been changed in the development version so that /gene has priority.
The /product isn't shown on screen unless you switch on the "Show Products" toggle in the popup menu of the feature list.

I'm beginning to think I must have accidentally damaged some part, since if I take /gene away, as follows

/note="this is a note"There is just "CDS" under the blue boxes. Also the buttons on my feature popup menu are not responding. I'll do a reinstall without adding my extra classes, and see what happens.
