Are you always using "direct login" with the crowd user credentials, or you
are using both SSO and direct login?
You have mentioned that you see "accepted login", probably in the access
log. Can you tell there is anything in the artifactory.log file when this
issue occurs?

Can you also try this on 4.2.1 on a browser in private mode, *after
completely cleaning the browser caches*?
