It seems like there is more violence than ever in Asbury Park. I live in Ocean
Grove and drive through town most days, and I'm always relieved that I was not
where the shootings occurred, at that time when they happened.I wonder if there
is anything that I can do to help stem the violence.
Another distressing thing is that while more and more expensive businesses are
opening on Cookman and the surrounding area, times are tough for so many. I was
asked for money on Cookman this afternoon, by a middle aged white woman who
also asked me if there was a shelter nearby. :( I sadly told her that there was
one on Memorial but that I think it is only for men. She politely thanked me
and went on her way... another man by Clancy's asked me for cash today. I felt
badly because I am in bad financial straits myself and couldn't help them.
Is the mission on Memorial only for men?
