Hi Lucian

Thanks for your suggestion for GSOC work with ASCEND. I think that
porting to Mac should be done without creating a new GUI, if possible. I
think that writing a whole new GUI is outside the realm of what's
possible in 2 months of coding.

What I *would* like to see is some efforts towards getting ASCEND
running on Mac via GTK+. GTK+ on Mac still has some problems, many of
which look like they could still be pretty serious, see here:
http://live.gnome.org/GTK%2B/OSX

You might be able to asses how serious these barriers they really are,
and work out whether you think you might be able to achieve something or
not.
