The complaints about two-lined titles are from the perspective of the
document writer (single-line titles are easier to write and maintain),
but I think there's a valid argument to be made that two-lined titles
are more easily understood and aesthetically more pleasing to casual
readers who are not familiar with the AsciiDoc syntax (if you stick to
single-byte character sets that is).

Thinking back, that was my original rationale -- I put one-line titles
in mainly as a sop to users from one-line markups and not because of any
revelation that one-lined titles were better. So (back-peddling on my
previous post) I won't deemphasize two-lined titles.
