Dear Friends, It so happened that I was talking to a few friends after our Rotary meeting yesterday.
Whatever happened was a political fabrication and the media has further enhanced the position of the scheming lots. We should not get carried away by what happened that day. But do we know what exactly conspired before the meeting ended? As far as I have heard, gallons of country liquor were distributed amongst the people gathered for the Dharna. They were supposed to peacefully end the meeting when like we see in a Hindi pot-boiler, middlemen started a furore amongst these people. they went onto damage property and harass people. To the point that this Adivasi girl who was stripped initially started the mayhem. She and two other accomplices actually forcefully went onto disrobe three Assamese women off their mekhela -sadors.these women had come to attend a Juron,(an engagement party!)at Beltola near that same area. They were left standing only in their Petticoats and Blouses. Enraged, the three musketeers who are now arrested for their 'Shameful Act'chased these Adivasi women and disrobed them. Now these women are not coming forward to help these hapless men. We can't blame them as well. They must be very embarrased to face the public at this point of time. But is this justified? What will be the fate of those three men who like crusaders of that fateful day, actually went onto save these three Assamese women from shame? Aren't they not lucky enough not to be hounded by the paparazzi and plastered on the morning newspaper? But if their conscience is still alive, then they should at least come forward and help these young boys and save their future. At least the culprits are arrested this time. Everyday groups of Assamese/ Marwari guys stand at streetcorners & pass comments, take photographs thro mobiles and rape women through their eyes and in some cases try to touch them too.Even when they are accompanied by thier parents. Thats how low our society has stooped to ...... but what is the Common people/AASU/Police doing ? Or are they also involved ? And the media ? they are no social workers , they are trying to sell newspapers by publishing nude pics.....go thro telegraph and see how many nude/semi nude pics they print per day Bhaskar
