Wonderful Manoj and Rabin, I would also love to know the mystery of PHUKAN's being BRAHMIN or Bamun!! I come across lot many Phukans and before meeting them I was keen to see a gigantic sturctured Chaodang man, but when met them, they were lean people and when asked they say as Bamuns ! LIke Late Bhrigu da- my past friend and so many.
Why I said about Phukan are strong that during my schol days all Police SI used to be either Gogoi or Phukans,Borah or Kalita /Talukdars.Those gogoi/Phukan was live example of Chaodangs !!! Criminals was scared more of them then the sin. If Manoj could help me to get some Buranjee gyan, this will help me to narrate my tourists too.(me not joking) thanks.
