Some People find it fashionable to disregard History. During my hostel days i had seen people poking fun at History students as if History was a worthless subject. ( i could never join the fun although i was in science!). i wonder if those people are contributing something better to the society than the History students now.
I remember, during the 1st AGP Govt. History was replaced from the school syllabus. i wonder if it was influenced by some vested interests to prevent future uprisings of the Assamese (one of which was just concluded that time!). I feel somebody (sensitive enough to understand the situation) should write a History about the Bangladeshi immigration to Assam. People should know how it all started (was it initially due to Bengal Division ??) and later on orchestrated by Bhashani & Sadulla and after Independece by Vote hungry Politicians! People should know how Indira-Mujib accord affected it (how whims of a few affects entire State/Nation), how IMDT was brought and how People on Power did nothing about IMDT while they could! -Kuladip PS: 'Atan Burhagohain Sako' is a good concept.
