Some years ago I was asked to do maintenance on an ISV's package. While I found dozens of errors, one 0Cx was due to a LOGON and a non-VTAM exit triggering at the same time, using the same save area. What is more interesting, that program had been on the market in active use since the early seventies.
Our first foray into XCF signaling replaced some existing VTAM messaging. The code had a single save area for the VTAM exits and this was reused for the XCF exits. We found out the hard way that XCF did not schedule its exits one-at-a-time like VTAM did. :-D -- Edward E Jaffe Chief Technology Officer Phoenix Software International, Inc 831 Parkview Drive North El Segundo, CA 90245 310-338-0400 x318 [email protected] http://www.phoenixsoftware.com/
