I completely agree that GETMAIN RU will either succeed or abend -- and that therefore, the question of the GETMAIN return code was a red herring to the main discussion. But Binyamin said that GETMAIN RU does not have a defined return code; and that's not so. Sorry for the nit-picking digression! Allen
