PDF to HTML- Just for the fun of it (and the lousy weather we have here) I tried pdftotext which comes with my linux..... the result is as the weather.
The text is okay but the pics are nothing. I only tried a few pages in the general instruction section (Compare because of Ddavid Strokes sample). "Line art" combined with text. You can tell that when you try to copy one of the pics from the PDF. Unlike newer manuals which have real pics with all elements in the pic (and not this mixture) (*1). Impossible for a tool. okay for a human reader. It would need major rework- Maybe automatic for the instructions - certainly not for things that occur only once (like pics for the TRAP-table and such) (*1) If the data would be available in a more tool-friendly way, here is a page which shows how the data could be easily enriched. http://www.pi-sysprog.de/free/pisamdata.html -- Martin Pi_cap_CPU - all you ever need around MWLC/SCRT/CMT in z/VSE more at http://www.picapcpu.de
