My team and I are deeply saddened to hear this news. We develop in HLASM since many years (actually decades) and are deeply grateful for his excellent work. Even though John is gone now, his legacy will live on. Personally, I always hoped to meet him one day.

I am deeply saddened to report that John passed away this morning (Tuesday, 20 February 2018) following a protracted battle with cancer. His wife, Tineke, reports: "He died in his sleep, and is now at peace and pain free. John will be cremated; in the near future there will be a memorial service at our church in Palo Alto."
