this is just implemented. Configure 'Notify' and 'NotifyRe' to watch for
the logentry that there is a new version available and you'll get your
email about that event.

But I think version that you has installed, is simply toooooooo old!

What about a parameter inside ASSP that is the email address of the
ASSP administrator.

When official versions or other important communique come out, ASSP
would pick it up and send an email with those release notes to that
address.

I know that at times like this past summer, I got so busy that I got
quite behind on keeping my ASSP version up-to-date, and didn't have
enough time to follow this mailing list. But if I was getting an
email directly to me saying "hey, there's a serious bug, update now",
I'd be likely to log in and spend the few minutes to upgrade.
