Ok - bad choice of words, so my apologies... :) Its just that it seemed to me that you were suggesting that if Fritz decided to stop publishing his modifications to ASSP, that he would somehow be in violation of the GPL... hopefully you are aware that that is simply not true. What he cannot do is stop publishing his modifications, then, later, package ASSP+newer mods and *distribute* it, without also including the source code. But if he chose to simply keep his changes to himself, and run his modified version of ASSP on his own system(s), he is certainly free to do that any time he wants to, for as long as he wants to. It sounded like you were suggesting he could not do that. That is, I think, what he took offense to... > Fritz efforts are great, and surely appreciated. Obviously leaving the > wrong impression there. However ASSP did not come about solely because > of Fritz efforts. Was it updated and considerably improved, yes. True enough, though I'm not sure why you would point this out - its not like anyone was suggesting or had ever suggested it... -- Best regards, Charles ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by DB2 Express Download DB2 Express C - the FREE version of DB2 express and take control of your XML.
