Hello all,

this is my first post on this list; but I tried to implement ASSP on our
w2k3 Server with Merak Mailserver now for several weeks, and now it's the
first time I haven't found the answers to my problems in this list.

My first questions relates to rebuildspamdb.pl:
When the Spam DB will be rebuild with this script, will there only the
existing files in the spam/notspam/error directory be processed and
calculated to a new spamdb, or will the old spamdb be expanded by the files
in the directories mentioned above.
So the next question, dependend on this fist answer is, if I can delete the
spam/notspam/error directories after rebuildspamdb.pl was run, or if it is
better to archive these directories in a 10 days cycle.

The second Problem I have is, that some times our users are not able to send
e-mails. It looks like that the Client (OL, OLE, webmail etc.) cannot
connect to the mailserver. As all these clients send their e-mails on port
25 I guess that ASSP will block here the communication, or is not willing to
take the request at this moment.
If you try to send the mail some minutes later it sometimes helps, sometimes
not - but it can be processes sometime.
When I looked on the logs I found out, that this behavior happened mostly
arround the cleaning up of the caches and databases.
Would this be a normal behavior that ASSP will not accept any connection
while cleaning the caches?

Thnaks and regards

Thomas
