Hrm, the only difference between your versions and my CentOS5.1 setup's are 
Sys::Syslog 0.13 for me, which I doubt makes any difference. Is ASSP the only 
thing that seems to fail on your machine given enough time? What do your logs 
say, have a look at them after a fresh reboot in-between then and the time it 
fails.
