Nothing in dmesg since output from last system boot. Here's the end of the mail log (on assp server that keeps dying, and is currently dead): > vpn# tail -14 /usr/local/assp/logs/maillog.txt

Both ASSP proxies deliver email to hub.kehillah.org, which is running sendmail. When one of the proxies is down, the other will work fine, and telnetting directly to hub *always* works. No outbound email passes through ASSP (I want to get it working first =P) I think that's a pretty good summary of logs and network topology. Let me know if there's anything else I can clarify. -Garrett P.S. kehillah.org is the same as kehillahhigh.org, we haven't completed our transition over from the old domain, but all the DNS records exist for both. P.P.S ns1.kehillah.org is the same as vpn.kehillah.org P.P.P.S. Since ns1/vpn is down right now, I'll show you what I mean (with names attached): > threadsnake$ telnet ns1.kehillah.org 25 > Trying 209.172.121.85... > Connected to vpn.kehillah.org. > Escape character is '^]'. > ^] > telnet> quit > Connection closed. > > threadsnake$ telnet gateway.kehillah.org 25 > Trying 209.172.121.83... > Connected to gateway.kehillah.org. > Escape character is '^]'. > 220 hub.kehillahhigh.org ESMTP By connecting to this server, you > agree to be relay tested by njabl.org. > ^] > telnet> quit > Connection closed. > > threadsnake$ telnet hub.kehillah.org 25 > Trying 209.172.121.82... > Connected to hub.kehillah.org. > Escape character is '^]'. > 220 hub.kehillahhigh.org ESMTP By connecting to this server, you > agree to be relay tested by njabl.org. > ^] > telnet> quit > Connection closed. (I waited 30 seconds for vpn, but didn't get a 220 welcome message). P.P.P.P.S. Have a headache yet? On Mar 2, 2008, at 11:25 AM, Joseph L.
