Its not bombarding you with spam.  Its that it's not protected from
spam, and a spammer has targeted your secondary MX record.  This is a
problem you will have with any unprotected backup MX service.

Frankly, I don't see any need for them.  Senders will queue mail if they
cannot reach your MX.  And the sender will know they mail was not
delivered to the intended recipient.
