Gotcha.. so stick with the text area editing a text .conf file thing then -
sounds cool.. then have a link off to the CDR bit etc?
 

Or integrate it into one neat looking package..

Yup I agree, could be quite a handy utility..

Unfortunately I am not really a coder so my only contribution would be 
helping with feature definition and usability testing..
