I agree! I just signed up with Unlimitel yesterday, and had our system up and running within a couple of hours. Fantastic quality, I didn't hear any difference between our Bell phone line and Unlimitel's VoIP. The codec they're using is use G.711 ulaw (64Kbps), which is the same as your standard phone line.
In my scenario, I'm supporting 4-5 users with the majority of incoming call traffic coming from Toronto and Kitchener, so I purchased DID's for both cities to allow people there to call us locally. Now I just need to find a comparable supplier for Vancouver. Has anyone looked into the 800 service from Selectcom? Some easy to digest tidbits: - Most areas they cover, phone numbers (DID's) are $2.50/mo [1] - You're billed for usage like a cellphone for in and outbound calls -- only the rate is much lower, 1.1¢/min.
