I love my Gmail. I've migrated all my mail so it comes via my servers to my
Gmail account. You get a message twice? That's fine, it just shows up once
if it's the same message (works with your sent items too, if it comes back
from the list, it doesn't show a second one as new, great for sending mail
to all of the staff at work). You subscribed to a mailing list with chatty
folk from Toronto talking about an open PBX? Just make a filter that
by-passes the Inbox and into their own label, now that's their inbox.

I'm thinking the solution lies with what Simon was looking for previously,
mailing list ware that doubles as online forums. That way there's no need
for anyone to complain. You use gmail and you're happy, great, do your part
to submit a bug report to add a reply to list function. (Could be pretty
easy to detect mail list mail and have that show up in addition to the other
reply functions.) And if you're tired of getting three to ten copies of the
same message, use the forums with message notification or some such thing.

Just some morning ramblings...

- Ian

PS: I'm sure all of us gmailers have at least 90 invites remaining right now
so if anyone missed that boat for some reason, just ask for an invite...
Hmm, I sound like a Mason. A GMason. :) Anyone wanna start a new cult?
