Thanks Phil. That's pretty much the first bit of positive news I found on the subject. There's alot of doom and gloom around faxing. Particularly in articles discussing Hylafax, it seems to be taken for granted that Asterisk sucks at fax. IE http://www.voip-info.org/wiki/view/Asterisk+IAXmodem

Fax not working on asterisk lol :P works great on Digium Hardware, I use some software called SPANDSP with my asterisk and a digium T1 Card and have no issues. Likewise if you want to play around with ata's the digium iaxy (iax based ata) is also cable of faxing through it. Hope that helps.
