My Bell line is coming into my Asterisk thru a FXS port. I noticed when a call comes in from the Bell line, there is a delay of approximately one ring before the IP phones ring. So, the caller may hear say 4 rings but my IP phones actually ring 3 times. Does anyone know how I can remove this 1 ring delay asummung it is configurable in zapata.conf or somewhere else?
Richard, I have the same experience here. I always assumed that the ring detection on the zaptel card required one full ring before it knew what was going on, then it registers on the system and places the call to my SIP phones. I can tell you that it's zaptel is capable of fast call setup because when I use it with a PRI circuit the extensions ring instantaneously. I'd be very interested to hear if someone knew of a way to get those analog calls to come in right away. Dave
