Well, if you're the type that actually tests stuff :-), you might want to use a low-power generic PC box running OpenBSD (best firewall software) or Linux (most widely-used ditto). Thecus N2100 is a fairly nice low-cost Arm-based box but with one or two hardware issues. Koolu (www.koolu.ca) is an i386 that is said to be nice, but I've not played with one yet.
